![]() What Nadeo does now isn't even really worth engaging, in my opinion. It makes all the difference in the value and satisfaction from playing it. I want to experience it with all the complete quality of production of its own front-end, its good music, its own mood and conceptualization. I want to pay for what is the most recent TM fully realized game presentation, and what I think is also their best TM product. I'm not against someone, or even myself doing it, if it was a satisfying solution, but it isn't a logical solution in light of the alternative option of Nadeo recompiling TMS and re-releasing it on digital platforms. The solution you suggest, downloading the tracks individually and running them in TMU, is no different than pirating a game. ![]() Nadeo's work since is not even really comparable - it's bite-sized, reduced in scope and variety, pisspoor itemized presentation, mediocre music, and comparatively soulless. And it all plays through TMS' front-end presentation, and feels complete. And then the Sunrise Extreme expansion tracks make it all the more amazing. TrackMania Sunrise has a mood-setting intro, it has great music dedicated to different zones, it has great and well thought-out races, puzzle challenges, and platform stages, that are presented with natural progression. TrackMania Sunrise is a complete game, a full and cohesive package, while everything Nadeo has done since is just a series of nodes that have race instances in them, and are very disjointed products. I meant to reply long ago but couldn't for a health reason.Īnyway, it is not the same downloading all the level files and running them as a mod for united. United does not satisfy the craving to play Sunrise. ![]() United Extreme is a crud presentation for Island, Bay, and Coast compared to Sunrise - and Sunrise is a great game, with great music, and a great presentation, hence why it ought to be recompiled for modern OS' and sold on Steam. I think it'd be better to let people speak for themselves regarding which games they like. United doesn't hold a candle to Sunrise when it comes to Bay, Coast, and Island maps - or Platform and Puzzle.Īs for not a simple matter of recompiling: How do you know? The amount of work needed to make a Win XP game run on Win 7 / 8 is never all that much, and is infinitesimal next to the payoff of having it available. ![]() The only thing rejected is your post which didn't read the first sentence in the OP. Sunrise set the bar higher than where United Extreme aimed. It's not at all about just having the same blocks available, it's about everything - and TM Sunrise delivers on everything, while United Extreme is like a quick reminisce. The Bay, Island, and Coast tracks are dialed-in / sub-average compared to what TrackMania Sunrise offered, and United is way lacking on content for those islands. ![]() TrackMania United Extreme, which I've had on Steam for ages, is pisspoor and shoddy compared to TrackMania Sunrise. "I think this is the best game in the TrackMania series, and that the offering in TM:S is much better than TM: United" ![]()
